Initial Assessment
To get started, interested pet parents can use my online booking tool to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone or video chat.
During this assessment, we will:
Discuss your pet’s specific health concerns
Ensure inquiries about using cannabis are answered
Assess if my services are a good fit for you and your pet
Veterinary Cannabis Consultation
The next step is to complete a thorough evaluation. This takes place over a one-hour Zoom call, during which we will:
Review your pet’s medical history, veterinary records (which I obtain in advance from your primary veterinarian) and current medications and supplements
Discuss the intake form you submitted prior to the consultation and review details about your pet’s current condition(s)
Discuss your goals for cannabis therapy
My focus is to ensure you understand the basic principles of cannabis use. I want you to not only learn the science behind cannabis, but also feel empowered to make informed decisions about your pet’s health and quality of life.
I also discuss harm reduction measures and information about the cannabis product choices available in your specific demographic area.
The cannabis landscape is saturated with marketing hypes and “promises” from companies who may be providing misleading information. This can be very overwhelming, but pet parents shouldn’t let this discourage cannabis use. Rather, it should be utilized with the support, oversight and guidance of a veterinary professional.
There is no “one size fits all” solution when selecting products for your pet. Products are thoroughly researched to ensure producers are following good manufacturing processes, integrity and, in turn, setting the foundation for the most reliable results.

3 Month Cannabis Guidance Plan
Once I have an in-depth understanding of your pet’s needs, I will put together a comprehensive guidance plan that includes:
Product guidance
Safety (Cannabis has important interactions with certain pharmaceutical drugs and this needs to be considered in a guidance plan. If not managed properly, they can be dangerous to your pet. Diagnostic bloodwork will also be required to ensure safety measures are implemented.)
Monitoring
Before you begin, we will meet for a one-hour Zoom call to go over the plan in detail and answer any questions you may have.
During the three months covered by the plan, we will have scheduled follow-up communications to discuss your pet’s progress. The timing of these follow-ups is specific to each pet, and as such, will be unique to each client.
With my extensive experience in the veterinary industry, I am able to take a “whole pet” approach to your pet’s health. This means if there are other resources that I know may be of value, I will include them in your customized guidance plan. My priority is to achieve the best possible outcome for your pet.
It’s also important that we maintain a collaborative relationship with your pet’s primary veterinarian. Working together with your veterinary healthcare team ensures all aspects of your care plan are supporting the goals you have set for your pet. As such, I will provide your veterinarian with a written summary of our guidance plan.

Occasionally, the best approach to your pet’s specific needs may be with a guidance plan that differs from what is outlined here.
In these cases, I will consult with you after the initial assessment to present a personalized plan best suited to your pet.
